SSC Stenographer Salary, Job Profile & Career Growth

SSC Stenographers are recruited by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) in various offices and departments under the Government of India. There are basically two grades in SSC Stenographer job:

1. Stenographer Grade C, and

2. Stenographer Grade D, under which comes Group X and Group Y Stenographers

Stenographer Grade C and Grade D – Group X employees will be posted in various departments of Central Government in Delhi. While the Grade D – Group Y employees will be posted in various Central Government departments located in other parts of India.

Staff Selection Commission released notification for recruiting SSC Stenographer for Grade ‘C’ and ‘D’. The SSC Stenographer online examination will take place from 1st February 2019 to 6th February 2019.

Scheme of Examination: The Examination will consists of a Written examination and Skill Test in Stenography.

1.Written Examination Examination: Written examination will consists of Objective Type- Multiple choice questions only. The questions except in Part III will be set both in English & Hindi.

Note-I: There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.

2. Skill Test in Stenography: The candidates who qualify in the written examination will have to appear for the stenography test. The candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English / Hindi at the speed of 100 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade -C‘ and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade -D‘. The matter will have to be transcribed on computer only.
